My friend (let's call her Kate) and her hubby were going to buy their first house.

Their realtor told them to write down exactly what kind of house they wanted, with the most important type at the top of the list.

Kate's #1 choice:

A 1,000-square-foot older ranch with character.

Kate's hubby's #1 choice:

A 2,500-square-foot newer two-story Colonial in a new development of a subdivision.

Kate realized that her hubby was the breadwinner and that this new home meant "success" for him. This new house said that "He made it."

Kate gave no fuss, no fight. She said "yes" to her hubby's dream home because she knew what it meant to him.
